Industries are always required to use chemicals with proper protection and safeguard, but some companies ignore these protection procedures. In such cases, health cases are excessive and it can even cause lung cancer or silicosis. However, the ratio of people getting occupational COPD is lesser.

Genes are also responsible for COPD. There are some people having more COPD exposure than others. The reason might be genetic cause. Some people don’t smoke for their whole life, but can get COPD. This might be due to lung diseases present in their ancestors. So, your smoking habits might even have worse effects due to your smoking habit.

Air pollution is another source to get COPD. This is big problem in larger cities having high rate of traffic and automobiles. Harmful and toxic gases in environment can cause Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases. Indoor pollution or excessive exposure to chemicals can even cause harmful impact on lungs.

Autoimmune process can also cause Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease. COPD patients have worse impact of inflammatory processes and the problem is mainly caused by smoking. The beginning of problem is by smoking and it continues to grow, even after a person quits smoking completely. There are less chances of autoimmune process, but there are many cases prevalent, which confirm this factual stage in a few patients.

Smoking is undoubtedly the most common cause of COPD in patients, but it is not the only cause. It is a leading cause, but other cases can be prevalent too. If you are working in a chemical prone area, it should be done in a protective way to avoid any chances of COPD.
